Overview
Ogou Agro-Industries buys, processes and exports the crops of the Bandama valley. It began in 2014 around a single soybean cleaning line in Bouaké and now runs three processing halls — cashew, soybean and sesame — alongside a maize drying and storage unit commissioned in 2021.
Supply comes from a contracted network of 6,200 smallholders organised into 180 cooperatives. Each cooperative signs a season-opening agreement with a floor price, receives certified seed and training in conservation agriculture, and is paid within seven days of delivery. Payment terms, more than price, are what stabilised volumes.
The Bouaké plant handles 22,000 tonnes a year. Around seventy per cent of output is exported to buyers in the European Union, Türkiye, India and Vietnam; the rest is sold as animal feed and refined oil on the domestic and regional markets. The soybean and sesame lines carry organic and fairtrade certification.
Headcount follows the season: 340 permanent staff, rising to 840 at the height of the cashew campaign. The stated ambition is not tonnage but value kept in Côte d’Ivoire — every processing step performed here rather than at destination is one the group intends to own.
